Excellent source for learning the fretboard above the 5th fret. This guy plays multiple stringed instruments. I have learned from his tab/music for 25 years. Don't buy if you're not serious.

Fred Sokolow put music theory in a way that even a newbie like me can understand. His methods allow me to get off the open chords and play more creatively. It's my second Sokolow book and I am very pleased with both of them.
Excellent scale book. Good for all scale fundamentals. This book will be in your reference library for scales for a long time
I'm getting more from this book as I go back to it, then lay off a few days, then go back. Its not the greatest book, probably others are better, but its helpful.
This is a good learning aid when trying to pick up this style of music playing. Some of the lessons are quick and don't really go in-depth (at least for myself) in explaining what some of the vocab is referring to. Teaches pertinent scale patterns along with song uses of the scales which is a big help. I think the book is fairly advanced, though admittedly I am very new to learning how to play guitar. Overall, a highly recommended piece of education and just downright fun!
I was expecting a little something different. This book is not as straight forward and tab based as I'd hoped it'd be.
